Week 3 Formwork and Slab

The formwork was completed during the week and the slab was poured today.  I cant wait to see the block tomorrow!!

Week 2 Piering and Plumbing

Piering completed on 15 May 2014.  We had allowance of 80lm, however piering came in at 53lm.  We should get a credit back, but that will go straight towards the soil removal fees.

Apparently we have 150tons to be removed.  One cost I did not expect.  So far we are about $11K up in extras since the electrical variation.  Im hoping that is the last of the surprise variations.

Week 1 Site Cut

We were told the site would be cut on 12 May 2014.  However, when we went to visit the block over the weekend we found the block had already been cut.  That was a nice surprise.

18 April 2014 On the constrcution list!!!

18 April 2014

Well, I finally feel I have something to write about! Yesterday we found out we were added to the construction list after months of waiting on Bankwest to get their act together.

We are hoping to see a slab towards the end of May. I cant wait.

It was exciting enough to get the pool started last week. Its only the shell, but it was a sign of progress that we were getting somewhere.

I can finally start to load some photos!

Today is a great day. It's my god-daughter's 3rd birthday and the signed contracts are on their way to McDonald Jones. Now just need to organise finance and the land to register!

2013 Colour Selection

11 July 2013

First, we had a meeting with our CLO and the drafting manager as the design had changed to what we originally wanted, however we were able to go back to our original plans.

Next was colour selections which was quite painless. We only spent 4 hrs at colours which was great I thought, although my over planning probably helped us on the day - 4 weeks going over bricks and colours.

What was entertaining for the day was the couple who fought the entire morning. I really thought that was going to be Matt and I.

We had a great colour consultant who was helpful when we needed help and didn't try push and upgrades. Most of our selections came from the builder's standard range. We actually came under budget at colours!

After handover we will be doing our own floors, window coverings, downlights and air-conditioning.
