At the moment we are still waiting for the developer to answer a few questions relating to the land we intend to purchase. It has been a month since we found the block and two weeks since we meet with our solicitor. Finance is approved so we are hoping that we get some answers by the end of the week.
Not sure what we will do if the purchase falls through as it is a great block. Plenty of room for a backyard. Size 623.7m2.

4 June 2013 - Onto contract number 2!
Well we were about to sign on the dotted line when the developer decided to extend the registration period to 30 June 2014 with no guarantee that the block would be registered by then. We pulled out as we were hoping to be in our new home by then. Lucky we had block number 2, which was located up the road and registration is due in 10-12 weeks.
I'm actually starting to like this block more than block number one. It's a little smaller at 588.4m2 but we still have plenty of room for a backyard.

The last month has been extremely stressful but thank goodness for our mortgage broker who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and is always willing to help out wherever he can. I would recommend his services to anyone who is looking at buying a property or looking to refinance.

25 June 2013 - Yay! We exchanged contracts
While I was away celebrating the marriage of my beautiful friends Emma Price and Casper Wintermans in Koh Samui, Matt was left to organise and negotiate the land contract and building plans!
When I returned home we were ready to exchanged contracts.
We still have a few months left until the land is registered. The developer expects the land to register around August, so that means September/early October, but you never know!
23 October 2013 - Finally the block has registered!
Today, we received the phone call that the block had finally registered. We were told end of August so we are behind 2 months which isn't too bad. I've heard horror stories about people waiting up to an extra 6 months for registration. Settlement looks like the 6 November.
6 November 2013 - Settlement
Purchase process is now over. The block if officially ours.
Now for the building process to begin!
